  17. This document is a commentary on current seismic activity.  The
  18. earthquakes discussed have been detected and processed
  19. automatically.  All epicenters and magnitudes have been reviewed
  20. to exclude obvious blunders; however, they must still be
  21. considered preliminary.  For further information, please contact

  28. This week's Report covers the time period from midnight Thursday
  29. morning, October 27, Pacific Daylight Time, to midnight Wednesday
  30. night, November 2, Pacific Standard Time.  We recorded 330
  31. earthquakes of M1.0 or larger this week.
  32.     We were back to boring seismicity this week.
  33.     No quakes were reported felt by the public.  The largest
  34. event was a M3.3 Landers aftershock on Sunday afternoon, 17 miles
  35. N of Yucca Valley.  It was the only M3 or larger event.  Landers
  36. and Northridge aftershocks continue as expected, along with the
  37. usual background seismic activity.
  38.     The table lists the quakes this week that were M2.0 or
  39. larger in the central part of the coverage area.  Times are local
  40. times; if you want Greenwich Mean Time, add 7 hrs to the Pacific
  41. Daylight Time or 8 hrs to the Pacific Standard Time listed.
